The Lenten Season started with Ash Wednesday yesterday on February 22., 2012. This is the day that the priest makes the sign of the Cross on your forehead with the ashes of the palms that are burned from the preceding leftover palm branches from the year before leftover from last year on Palm Sunday signifying when Jesus came into Jerusalem..He says, "You are ashes and to ashes you will return." to each person as he places the ashes on your forehead. It is symbolic of the penance God calls you to during this time of forty days before Easter.

( PLEASE, please, pls Y"ALL ~ Pray for me ~ Help me to keep my Lenten pledge for God ! You are supposed to make a personal sacrifice to God fr Lent in honor of the forty days that Jesus agonized ... I had pledged to go to morning services at church EVERYDAY bec I am NOT a morning personal !!

Well now, TODAY I shut off my alarm clock when it went off at 6am.. Then I made that fatal error to sit on my bed & put on my sox.. My friend came to call AT 11 am !!! Need I say more ???

I was SO disappointed in myself but, even more, I missed the priest's homily ( The priest's message or sermon ) & I was SO disappointed bec when I went yesterday morning - it felt so great to learn more about God's plan in my life & the whole day was better than usual !!

So, please, keep me in prayer... )

You are definitely in my prayers for this Lenten pledge! I am also working on my relationship with God during Lent and I know how much better it feels to have a daily communion with him and others who believe. May God bless and keep you!

I was thinking about my earthly father and Im really missing him today. I have Happy memories of him for the way he introduced me to God.:) Who had a postive and encouraging effect on your coming to know the Lord ?
