Hello all. i havent posted for a while. I finished 3 months of topetecan in early March, and had a scan. Came back that the tumors had grown slightly. Doc wanted to stay on it for another 3 months. i did not like that idea at all, and asked to be put back on Doxil. I was forced off it in Sept. because it flared up my eczema horribly. BUT i had the only good scans i have had in a year while on it, so i would gladly suffer with eczema if the cancer is shrinking, or staying stable. to my surprise, my doctor actually seemed to listen to me. A first. To be put back on Doxil, i had to have a mugga scan on my heart . heart passed it with flying colors, so i am cleared to go back on it. I got a call friday from the nurse practitioner saying the doctor has some other ideas.....( so much for being heard). I will keep an open mind, and see what his new treatment plan is. He has told me many times he intends to "manage " my cancer. Am i wrong for being totally against this? My plan has always been to BEAT this cancer, and continues to be, no matter how many times he tells me I cant.
I hope you find the answer and will share it with the rest of us. its kind of sad that we don't have women who were cured come back and encourage the rest of us. I don't think any of us want to be on chemo for life.
I am glad to hear you have a positive attitude, even if your aim is only to commit mayhem on your doctor. doing something is always better than doing nothing.
