My daughter was diagnosed with SVT about a month ago. We have scheduled an ablation for 02/19/08. Just wondering if anyone out there has had this procedure done. She is only 11 years old. So needless to say, I am a nervous wreck. Any insight anyone can give would be appreciated.

i am 16 i was diagnosed with SVT and VT when i was 13 years old.since then ive had 2 heart oblations and am about to have a 3rd in the summer time. one good thing i can insure you is that SVT is not deadly it actually is very common in teenagers a lot of people have it just do not realize it. the procedure though is long myn both have been 10 hours long. i will tell you ahead of time as soon as she comes back around and for a couple days after she will be in a good bit of pain. also the procedures is not guarnteed to work either it does work a lot of the time though but just keep your head up. as long as you trust your doctor the procedure should be no problem at all. but if you would like leave me a message or something telling me a time to be on and i will chat with you and answer any questions you have about the problem or the procedure. hope this helps a little bit..good luck

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
