My mom has a aortic dissection. This is where the aorta starts to spilt.
Has anyone else heard about it?

This may be late in answering but I just signed onto this site this evening. I just went through surgery a month ago due to having an Aortic Dissection. I was told that I did not have but a 5% chance of surviving the operation it was that severe. I can't tell much about it except for to search online for more information . I know that there are different stages.I hope that your mother is doing well and if this is not much help I am sorry. All I know is that it is somehting serious and something not to be ignored.

I had an ascending dissection repaired almost three years ago and still have a descending dissection that they're watching. it's a scary situation, the best advice I can give you is find a dr that you can trust and listen to them, I didn't and it almost killed me.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
