Iritis

Hi,

I am new on here. My partner has Psoriatic Arthritis and in the last couple of years has developed recurrent bouts of Iritis, she is now on her 5th bout of it. This time both her Iris and Retina are inflamed and they have also noticed that she has started to develop a cataract on that eye.

Does anyone else on here have recurrent bouts of Iritis? or do you take anything to help prevent the bouts. They mentioned after the 2nd bout possibility of long term low dose steroidal eye drops, but since then have been reluctant to put her on them.

Hi, I have had a couple of bouts of iritis, and I did take steriod drops. However, I also have crohns disease and the 2 things go hand in hand. Also had a detached retina 3 years ago, since then I havent had another bout of iritis, but that might be because the crohns is treated with steriods

I have dealt with Uveitis (anterior iritis) for more than 20 years. It flares up at times. It is secondary to my ankylosing spondylitis, which is secondary to my crohn's. I have times when my uveitis has been very quiet and times when it has flared so bad that I have had to take prednisone drops once an hour for weeks or months. Right now I am attempting to fight through a bout with it and have to admit that it is hard and my eye doctor has suggested that maybe we should try prednisone shot in my right eye to help it. It might be some thing that you can discuss with her doctor. Also, the prednisone drops have left me with cataracts in both of my eyes.

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper?
