my doc told me i have nerve pain and prescribed amprytripline. i thought it was my osteoprosis has it was burning in my thighs and down my legs and groin, she described another word for it but cant remember what it was, does anybody else experience this , sam

Yes I have the nerve pain. I wish I would have done more walking when I had the chance. I think that would of helped with some of the pain.

Yes I definitely have nerve pain, but I had it long before the Osteo. set in. It's from back surgeries gone bad. Does your medication help you? I'm on Topamax, and it works wonders! Finally, there's no more burning/hot-poker feeling. I do still feel like there's water running down my legs sometimes tho. But I can live with that! LOL.

I have an aching in my left thigh which I sometimes thought was due to this osteoporosis of the hip. I haven't mentioned it to my doc yet, but am wondering if it may be what you have. Feel it at night when trying to sleep too. I'm always afraid of blood clot -- same thigh that had same feeling many years ago while pregnant. Doctor then thought it was blood clot so he sent me to ER (military), but it turned out not to be. Said it was just the weight of my pregnancy?? That was over 30 years ago. Never felt it again until recently. It's not there all the time, but it is a nuisance.

I think I know what you mean about nerve pain. I have a numbness in my left hip and upper thigh and my feet are numb sometimes. Is this what you are talking about? Thanks

Was the word your doctor used "sciatica"? It's caused when something irritates a nerve, usually a ruptured disk in your back, or even a compression fracture. I'm experiencing this. It causes my toes to go numb.
