Is anyone taking fosamax, went to a new family dr and she gave me fosamax 1 tab. once a week! When i bring it up on internet it's mostly negative things! If you have taken it please respond and let me know if it helped you

My doctor gave me once-a-month Actonel, which is in the same family as Fosamax and Boniva. I took it one time and had horrible side effects for 4 weeks. At that point I decided never to take it again. One of my other doctors told me to take a supplement called strontium citrate, which I've been on for 2 years without problem. Just remember that this medication (biophosphonates) is an individual thing, because some people take it without problems. Best wishes to you.

I am planning to take strontium citrate, too. I don't want to add another medication to my long list...

I have been taking it for over 2 years. I have not had any problems and my bone density has improved.

There are probably others who take it and have no problems also.
