Also, as Ocean mentioned, I'm one of the people who uses alternative supplements, because once-a-month Actonel caused me horrible side effects. For me getting off prednisone, a gluten-free diet, and the supplements have worked well. In August, after my latest dexa, I was upgraded from Osteoporosis to Osteopenia. So there is hope after an Osteo diagnosis. Best wishes to you.
hips. I have already had ten compression fractures, two for which I had kyphoplasty last August, which did not help. I am afraid of all the meds due to the side effects, especially those of the jaw necrosis and the hips, which are severely bad already. I know of many who have died as a result of the medical treatments such as Reclast and Forteo. I suspect the others have the same side effects. I doubt there is anything out there that would bring me back to an osteopenia level. I am scared too.
Can you ask your doc about using the supplements mentioned in
here? It takes awhile for them to build up in your body but just
maybe they might help. And if you can do some mild chair exercises
that might help also.
