Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) Support Group
Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) an ongoing pattern of disobedient, hostile, and defiant behavior toward authority figures that goes beyond the bounds of normal childhood behavior. When a child cannot seem to control his anger or frustration, even over what seems to be trivial or simple to others, the child will often react in violent or negative ways to his own...
The poop on the wall hasn't been addressed with her yet. They asked her if she knew anything about it, and she said yeah, she's seen it in a bunch of bathrooms. They are afraid if they accuse her, or make her think they know she's doing it, she will become violent at school again.
I'm curious about a couple of things..alot of her behaviour sounds similar to my son's..
Does she have empathy for other people or show remorse when she's done wrong..
Does she lie alot?
Does she steal..is she "out for all she can get?
Let me know cause if this is the case I have some ideas as to what's going on with her.
Hugs

She is stealing so much now - it used to be she stole a few things here and there from school/neighbors/friends. Little things. She doesn't steal from them anymore, she learned not to, however, now she steals from me. Everything from money to gum & candy, to batteries. And then she lies about it. And she's never the one who ate all those chips.. I keep telling her, I just need to know so I can buy more/replace things, etc. And when she does steal money it's for stupid things like the school store, pencils/pens or when they do raffle tickets at school. It's driving me insane. She knows she can earn money by helping around the house. She says she doesn't want to, she'd rather not have money then have to help around the house. I've tried everything - every type of reward chart there can be, and I just gave up because it didn't work. She'd do the bare minimum just to get enough, or nothing at all because it's "stupid" to her. So she doesn't get money, and she doesn't get to buy misc. junk, and I just don't buy her little surprises anymore because she's always so negative and hateful to us.
We also had to have a long talk with her about using the expression, "I know" to respond when she really doesn't know about something.. so she stops incriminating herself for things she doesn't know and didn't do!
We too are at our wits end.
