Sometimes we just get so overwhelmed and wonder if anyone is really listening to our cries for help..I hope that I can be there for everyone and help them, because it helps me deal better with our issues.. and knowing I am not alone in this fight.

Wow, I so needed this today! I have been going through SOOO much with my Odd/anxiety/depressed 8 year old already this year, that I have an appointment with a doctor this morning for myself. I can't handle it anymore and my actions don't make it any better for him, so maybe if I go get help, it will ease some of this. Then, YAY me, get to have ameeting with the school this afternoon! ...sigh..calgon..take me away

Thanks--needing to hear this right now. Feeling sad and overwhelmed by this right now...what if this ODD that my 7 y old has is actually Bipolar Disorder? Lots of the same earmarks--Has your therapist ever alluded that this may be the underlying cause behind your child's ODD (mine has and it scares the poo out of me) ?

bi polar can be really hard to dx, in kids because there symptoms are differeent then adults, Bi ploar has been brought up but so has personality disorder, they have pretty much taken odd off the table, my daughter has other issues she is dealingwith right now and she is actually in a residential treatrment center, very emotionally hard for us to do but had to do something she was really getting out of hand,, but we have lived with the odd dx for so long and she actually showed signs of that and had all the signals,, she has been hrad to dx and she has been stuck with many diferent dx, she falls into so many different areas.. thw two we know for certian are anxiety disorder and severe mood disorder,, she is 13 soon to be 14 and we have dealt with this since she 4. very hard and physically and emotionally draining on a family, a good therapist and support team is very importart and consistency and staying calm in the storm, not always easy,, read up on it and learn what you can and take time for you,, hopefully you have all this and hopefully we here on ds can get you through those tough days too,
