Animals killing and eating each other? You see this as a negative thing? I think it is just part of nature and the process of birth and death. It is life. For forms to be born, old forms must pass. There is a natural and beautiful cycle at work. Now I do think that maybe it is time man evolves past killing and eating animals, because of the toll animal production takes on the planet and also how inefficient it is to produce food that way and we have a huge human population to support on only so many acres of land, not to mention the cruelty that is present in the corporate farms which is a result of the high production numbers needed to feed the large size of the human population.
But animals eating animals? I don't see that as a negative thing that has to stop. Of course there is the thought that once mankind's consciousness evolves it will bring about an evolution of the consciousness of all living beings and then, perhaps, animals will no longer consume each other. But if that is true, maybe that is a lot farther off then 2012.

i do see killing as a negative thing, i see its as very cruel and not so beautiful cycle of life. These animals goes through a lot of pain and terror, they can't even die peacefully. Many people don't die peacefully either. look what happens around the world, genocide after genocide people die in thousands every day.

I often thought about this. But i have watched as animals die in the wild as food for other animals. If you really take the time to look clearly at the situation, and not view it as some negative thing, and see it as part of the creation process, which it is, You might notice something as I have. There is the struggle. But when it gets to the point where the predator has the prey, and there is no escape, there is a surrender and peace which emanates from the prey. There is much beauty in this. I don't know if you ever observed this process. I used to be a hunter and witnessed this first hand. I have also watch it between animals many times live as well as on film. Of course, this seems to be absent in environments such as a corporate slaughter house, where there is just so much needless suffering taking place. As far as I am concerned, I have taken a precept of refraining from killing. Period.

Now unlike animals, people have egos. well I believe the animals have egos, but in proportion to their natural function in the animals. But with pets which live with humans, I think there is a slight problem sometimes.... Anyway, I think when people kill each other, it is not a matter of the natural cycle, but of the ego. In that case, the beauty and peace that should be there in the very natural act of death is missing. But I think, that regardless of how one dies, there is still the opportunity to find peace. I think it is our choice to find peace regardless of the situation. Maybe we should change the negative concept which has been attached to death itself. On the level of form, death is a natural and very beautiful part of creation itself. Without it, creation itself would never exist.

From what I have seen about 2012 it is the world ending. It is a shift in our consciousness. Look up Michael Tsarion, he has some great videos on the evolution of our consciousness.

Well consciousness is already shifting and I don't think it can shift on specific date, this process probably has to be gradual. Many people are already awaken to the fact that the world is run by secret government behind the scenes, who tries to manipulate our views about reality, through television and other media instruments.

RE: Reply 32. Simon, I recall watching nature films or shows whatever they are called now; and I think when an animal is attacked to be eaten they go into shock. The shock helps with the pain. I think if you empathize and put yourself into what the animal might be going through, you really don't know. And when I say you I don't just me you simon. But yeah...thats something I've thought about too.

I think animals and even humans need to die at some point. I don't know about where you live, but in my state in subdivisions on the outskirts of town have many deer. People feed them and find them "adorable." After awhile the herd grows larger because no one shoots the deer and there are no predators in the area. Then there isn't enough food to support the heard then disease and sickness spreads. Death is natural and necessary in my opinion. Many people feed those deer dried corn which is like junk food for them. They need something more nutritional in order to stay healthy and maintain a quality of life.

Yes, death is natural, and I personally view death as more of a transformation rather than ending. However death is something that should happen naturally without violence and terror. People and animals should have the opportunity to die peacefully, not by being killed. There is darkness in this murderous act, which is in my opinion is not good for the karma of this planet, and at one point is going to stop, and transformation has to happen one way or another, either everybody will die in the earth changes, or transform themselves and their consciousness.

To answer THE QUESTION! (from my point of view): The mayans set a date calculated in exacting study that 2012 "ends a cycle of time". ONLY a 'cycle of time'. And define 'world'. To me it means: life as we know it, which means a major change in how e live our lives, and PERHAPS even the actual condition of and appearance of this planet. Will 'the world' end in 2012? NOT in my opinion!

I don't think its going to end but I'm also not denying that it won't happen. Because the Mayans predicted the world will end so they say and lots of there predictions came true. And other cultures I've heard like Chinese and Egyptian's I think and some American Indian tribes have talked about the end of the world. But maybe the Mayans meant the world as we know it will end like our way of life and a new world will begin like new changes or something who knows. And mycolours I did hear about Nostradamus predict stuff after the year 3000 on a science channel on TV but who knows. Will just have to see in 2012.

No one KNOWS what will happen.. but personally I think if anything.. maybe the "end of the world" could actually be the end of an era or the world as we know it... maybe a huge war or something?

No, No, three times No! This is nothing but a myth. The calander actually has dates past the 'Doomsday' date. It's just a change in the calander , same for the one you do every year.

I don't know when or if the world will end . But I'm glad I'll possibly be here for 2012 to see what happens. I am preparing for the worst and hoping for the best. I'm a crazy but I keep 3 months worth of food and water on hand at all times. My little voices in my head tell me that's important.Also I believe in reincarnation and I think we need this world to return too or maybe not. We'll just have to wait and see. But even if the world ends life goes on and love will enable us to rise out of the ashes.imo
