Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Support Group
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.
For example- "If I call my friend on a day that ends with the number 3 something bad will happen." or "If I buy these plates while thinking bad thoughts every time someone eats off of them they will have a bad day." "If I say the word 'cancer" to someone someone they know will get cancer." or "I can't wear red to a job interview or I won't get the job."
Hope this helps!
