Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Support Group
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.
I've only talked about this with a therapist and my husband, but I have reoccurring thoughts about pregnancy. You know how some/if not most women want to get pregnant, get upset if they don't conceived quickly or at all, etc.? I am completely the opposite. of the pain of childbirth. And didn't want to raise a child. But I could take birth control.
And now at 63 and having gone through extremely painful physical things. I'm not
so terrified at the thought of the pain. Especially when you get a baby at the end.
But I'm still glad it never happened.
