Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.
This is such an awesome post to read. You are working so hard fighting the OCD urges/thoughts, and that is definitely something to be proud of. It makes me happy that you are able to recognize this as an accomplishment, and feel proud of yourself.
Keep it up, and on the hard days, remember how far you've come :)
anytime we challenge our ocd it really is something to feel proud of....
