Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Support Group
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.

Hello!
I've been doing some thinking about my past, and little things I used to do and in some cases still do today that are likely OCD issues. I used to have this habit when I was younger where I would put one of my Dad's golf clubs in between my toes and swing it back and forth with my toes. It had kind of a therapeutic effect, I did it habitually. I also do this today sometimes with my tennis racquets. Also, I had a habit that I still do here and there today where I would say the main idea of a conversation before I would actually start talking. For example, I would say, "potato salad" before I asked somebody or talked about having potato salad with dinner. Also, sometimes I will mumble the last few words of something that I have said to a person. Do these seem like OCD rituals to you guys? I think they might be because they were both just habits, and I think about it when I do them.

It knd of sounds like your saying what you think. I clearly have OCD. When I first got officially diagnosed I started to do research on it and noticed symptoms that I hadn't realized were OCD related---like nail biting and skin picking. As I look back to my childhood and teen years I also realize that I had OCD starting back then. I often repeat the same word/s over again in my head at times. But, I don't really consider them as a problem. I will sometimes say what I just said to someone. For me it's like i'm thinking out loud---reviewing what I just said----to make sure it made sense or was what I wanted to get across. My son also silently repeats what he says. I thinks it asurance but i'm not a doctor. I have way worst symtoms than that so I wouldn't worry about it. Unless its really bothering you.

Oh no, these aren't the only things that have been bothering me, I've been having intrusive thoughts that cause me a lot of anxiety, I obsess about them and fear that they might be true, and I do compulsive things that in my mind keep these things from happening. I've done a lot of research on OCD and taken symptom tests and stuff, that's why I think I have it.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
