Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Support Group
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.

A lot of people go through what you're describing; the feeling that doing something or not doing something specific will keep bad things from happening.
You're not alone. You're very far from alone.
Would you be willing to open up little bit more about the nature of your OCD? There are known subtypes of OCD but it's a disorder that can really manifest in any nasty way it wants.
Either way, you've got my support. I'm here if you need to talk to someone.
Have you asked your therapist if medication may help?
My OCD symptoms have always been odd, I feel, and unique to me It wasn't until I did a lot of research that I finally found descriptions like what I was experiencing. Mine don't usually make it onto the usual "contamination, harm, violence, etc" lists you might see in a textbook. I just wanted to let you know that rosecandy is right, it really can take any form it wants.
