Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Support Group
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.
This was the first post that I saw when I logged in just now. I can surely tell you that having these obsessive thoughts and them constantly bothering you is not just you. Your depression making a come back is also not just you, I was diagnosed with clinical depression that turned into major depression about 4-5 months later when I was 18 as well as OCD. I am going to be 20 soon, so I have not struggled for as long as you have, but I can relate to your problems. Yes, I also feel like the older I get, the worse that my anxiety gets. I get "just don't think about it", or "just try to distract yourself by thinking about something else" from people ALL of the time who don't understand what I mentally put myself through, so they honestly have no idea how difficult that statement, alone, is to process, especially if they know that I struggle with anxiety. In October of 2015 right after my 18th birthday, Zoloft was the very first anti-depressant that I was put on, and it did NOT work for me. I know that everyone is different, but it just made me have more intense suicidal thoughts than usual. I've been jumping around with medications and dosages for nearly 2 years now, and still can't find the right combination. I've also seen 2 therapists and a psychologist and so far nothing has helped. So I hope you just know after this depressing comment back to you that you are not alone, and I struggle alongside you. Lol. But seriously, best wishes to you, and message me sometime if you'd like to talk!
