Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Support Group
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.
i just read yr last thread here...wow, i see that u are going thru some hard times.i just want to tell u that i too have been thru some very horrible times lately myself.last few months i have been so tormented i cd not tell if i was living or was having a nightmare.really..i actually pinched my skin throughout the day.i have also thought taking my life wd grant me peace. and yet i will not do this b/c i KNOW this ocd is beatable.I have beat it before.
Years ago I used to have ocd rituals from the moment i awoke till asleep .yes all day..This was when i first came down with ocd.Little by little i rid myself of all of it except maybe one or two little minor things. But this ppast year i had a horribly traumatic experience and and i found myself obsessing all the time again.ocd interacts w/stress.What i tell myself and am telling u is that we are not bad in ANY way b/c we have ocd .In fact most ppl i ever meet with ocd are exceptionally conscientious and good people. If we were incompetent, lazy or bad we wd not care so much about all this. Its b/c we are truly MORE than ocd that we are so bothered. It is a difficult disorder .U have a lot of strength and endurance building within just by going thru ocd everyday.U are soooooo worthy .all of us are.Just wait,u will get better...be able appreciate life more than ever before...there are some good ways to get help-therapy,books etc. Most ppl do not understand ocd and find it hard to accept it.Some of the things u need them for may actually make ocd worse..this can be helpful for u to see..being left alone means u will find god even moreso. That is the other side of this coin.Plus u have all these people HERE who truly ,truly understand ,know the suffereing of ocd.
we are here for u.
