Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.
i started counceling again and hoping i stick to it this time. im emotionally all over the place. never finish tasks and this is a big problem at work. my head races all the time cant seem to slow it down. i take zoloft 150 mg for depression but wanted feedback on other meds. my councelor advised going to dr for advice on meds to slow me down like ridalin or something similar. anyways would like advice. dont want to be a stoned monkey just want to finish a task

I always believed medication for mental health is whatever the person wants. For my OCD I use the medication I use for my Depression and Anxiety. I am on Prozac 40mlgs and Vistaril 25 mgs. Prozac has its ups and downs for me and Vistairl works almost all the time. Every medication can effect everyone differently though. My Prozac is for day and my Vistairl is to make me sleep at night. I would definitively discuss all of your options with your doctor and I wish you the best.

i have never been tested for anything, dr just knows i have suffered with depression for years only been on zoloft for one year. i will be honest when i go to medical dr next month for my yearly and have discussed it with my therapist yesterday.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
