Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Support Group
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.
Of course things like uncontrolled psychosis isn't a good thing, but nearly every form of "mental illness" is treatable in many people.
People should be judged on the quality of their work, NOT what their medical record says. And, it is NOT an employer's business if or when someone saw a mental health professional.
You owe it to yourself to get treatment, with treatment your anxiety may be under control, and you may still be able to do the work you want to.
But, if one cannot DO the work, it is a disservice to one's patients. Get treatment and THEN worry about your nursing career.
