Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.

Last year on May 28th I deliverd a stillbirth. Everything happened so fast I tried to block most of it out. Since then I have been living in this fear of dieing or I read stories of things people have done and worry I will turn into that. I just dont know how to get my thoughts under control. It could be the most stupidist thing and I think Im going to turn into that. I just had a little boy 4 months ago and just the other day I read a story about a pedifile.......i was so disgusted...but then there goes my mind...thinking how did that person become that? I let my little one lay on me all the time or i still all his kisses does that mean I will turn into one too? Or the mom who was so obbsessed with her son and she killed his wife(lifetime movie) will that be me. When Im not thiniing of crazyness I worry that I have some illness. I never had any of these issues until I lost my little boy last year Do you think I have too much time on my hands. I dont want any of you to think I would ever do anything to my son, thats not going to happen I dont have feeling for him in that way and I DO know right from wrong and thats disgusting. I just have crazy thoughts that I dont want to have. Please dont pass judgement...thanks

I have also suffered from these types of thoughts. At one point in my life I was convinced I could never have children because I feared I would harm them physically or sexually. With CBT and the right medication I was able to overcome these fears. I now have a 3 year old daughter who I love dearly and know I would never harm. I was able to get past the OCD fears and you can as well. Are you in therapy currently?

Yes I have these thoughts and they are normal. The only difference is how we react to them with fear. In order for them to go away or at least diminish you have to accept them. You should read some previous posts about thoughts like these :)

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
