Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Support Group
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.

Much support to you.
You might need medication in addition to therapy for the OCD.
I did.
I feel like I could have written your exact post. You are definitely not alone. I wish I had some advice for you, but like I said, I struggle with this exact same thing. The only thing that sometimes helps with my hyperresponsibility is thinking to myself, "Would I hold another person responsible in this same situation?" Most of the time, the answer is no, and then I ask myself why I should hold myself to different expectations. I am not sure if I am explaining that well or not...
I am glad to hear you have reached out for professional help, though I am sorry about the wait list. That must be frustrating. Try to hang in there and remember there is hope. Treatments for OCD can be very effective and while they may not make the OCD vanish completely, they can get you to a point where it doesn't affect your life so much.
Overall, try your best to be kind to yourself. Do something nice for yourself every day, whether that be getting outside, talking to a friend, taking a hot shower, etc. Remind yourself that you are doing the best you can at the moment, and that is all you can ask of yourself.
