Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Support Group
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.

It helps a lot,but it *is* a disease of the basal ganglia and misfiring neurotransmitters.
I am on 6 medications and in therapy with an OCD expert.
Therapy seems to help more than meds.
I am so sorry you have to try and cope with OCD.
I am doing better in some ways after switching back to a med that I have been on in the past that is very helpful. It is just that there is risk of a cardiac issue with it so it is I guess a "possible positive effects may outweigh the possible negative effects."
So,some of my intrusive thoughts have abated however i have relapsed in my eating disorder and my OCD really latches on to it,making it pretty bad.
I hope you have some luck with cbd if you try it and I hope you can get in to see a pyschiatrist soon.
Hope you find some relief.
...Danny,I am so sorry the intrusive thoughts leave you feeling so desperate.
I have certainly been down that path.
Please hold on.Please take good care of you,
The thoughts for Danny too - it would just be nice to have a break from it all. I pray for us all to get some peace.
I take chlorpromazine to treat my OCD,along with clonazepam, and loxapine as well as lamotrigine for my epilepsy.
i know ssri's and snri's are first line treatments for ocd.but all antidepressants cause me to become suicidal,so i have to take neuroleptics.
Chlorpormazine helps quite a bit,but i am still plagued by ocd.
i wish you all the best with prozac. And you are right it will take a few weeks maybe before you notice any difference but i so hope it works well for you.You don't deserve to suffer.
The CBD does not replace speaking with a good therapist. Therapy in addition to your CBD will be very helpful. It works for me. My therapist discussed CBD with me and make suggestions.
