Hi

I have ocd around mold and am needing to buy a second hand car, every time I test drive one I find it hard to get my breath for a few days and put this down to the fact that there must be mold somewhere in the car or a/c, I know it is more likely anxiety but how do I get over that to purchase a car

mold has caused me a great deal of problems with my skin and while there are no conclusive answers, my doctor told me it can affect us negatively.
About the car, you may be thinking it has mold due to your OCD, or anxiety. Do you have anyone to come along with you on test drives as a second opinion or to help you find a car?

Obsession about mold can affect us negatively too. I struggle with that. If you could have someone help you in getting a car maybe that might help alleviate your worries

I did have mold and it made me unwell and that worry has obviously got out of control, but had someone with me and they thought everything looked good.

Since you had someone with you, did their opinion help to ease your fears?
I always have to find that fine line between excessive worry and reasonable caution especially with mold.
It's good I think to be cautious but it causes a great deal of anxiety to worry out of control.
I hope you will feel more at ease with buying a car, did you buy it? Do you know of anybody who knows cars or about mold? I wish that I had a "mold expert" at times, though some doctors do have a lot of knowledge about it
