Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Support Group
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.
i believe this is ocd...as ive had it for years, and only in the last year have i identifyed the "mini movies" all of mine are disasters, over the years when anxiety has been high these seem to come into play aswell as other intrusive thoughts along side the checking and contamination stuff indoors....if we have been made to feel horrible people, especially when we are young, we can get stuck with that belief....or if youve felt very unsafe in the world...when high anxiety comes it plays it out... but i know its me catastrophizing, i(f thats the correct spelling)
also having too much time on my hands hasnt helped.....but i may even watch childrens films,cbb,s...comedy dvds,cartoons...anything safe...well i say watch but if im anxious i dont always conciously watch...but it still gets in my brain an helps to calm me down ....also keep on posting
