Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Support Group
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.
i am so sorry that you are struggling with the overwhelming and so often absolutely debilitating illness that is OCD..
i am also sorry that your meds aren't working for you, that you have been feeling even worse....you got them from your gp i assume, not a pyschiatrist?
(sorry,i'm in Canada and don't understand well the health care systems in other countries...i assume if you can't get treatment due to not having coverage for mental health....which makes me irate...you could not see a pyschiatrist who could better work with you as far as meds and therapy...because there are really so many more options available to you)
i'm also sorry things didn't help with the student you saw...
are there any support groups in your community? often it can help simply to connect with others who understand...
the following book also i know has been helpful for many people:
http://www.ocduk.org/four-steps
and i'm sure you could find it in your local library....
as well, this website could provide you with resources and information:
https://iocdf.org/find-help/
as well,do keep posting....please know you are not alone....
sorry that i have rambled on and if i haven't been much help, but know that it pains me that you are suffering, with meds that aren't helping, and with so little support..
i do hope you can find more help, and begin to get better.
in the meantime, keep posting when you need to....you are not alone.
Best of luck to you and feel free to send me a message if you'd like.
