weightloss buddies. there was a dissusion about support groups and i defended the leader. after that i got a horrible email telling me to leave the group and the next day i was banned. then yesterday i wrote a post about finding a buddy for myself and warning people that they should watch what they write or they will be banned aswell, and my post was taken down. this will maybe get taken down as well. thank you denise, you are always so pleasant. hugs back at you.

Well, that's the difference between DS created groups and member created groups - the member groups are controlled by the member who founded it (Founder) and founder assigned administrators, who each have full control to delete posts and members with just a click, no reason required.

It takes an actual violation of DS TOS rules to get a post/members banned in a DS created group... not just a personality conflict or a difference of opinion.

So don't let it get you down... if that subgroup is not for you, find another or start your own.

Sometimes we don't know what happened in personal messages so who know's for sure. Just forget it and move on. We are here to support each other not to slam other groups that we don't agree with.

I would just like to add a comment to Jax's post. I also had an unpleasant experience with the Diet Buddies group leader. I joined, posted that I wanted a buddy and was told I'd have to wait till the end of the month when she would assign me someone yet there were posts showing people buddied up a day or two earlier without her help. A couple of members were nice enough to email me on their own and commented that it wasn't well run. Next I receive a nasty message from the leader telling me to drop out if I didn't like the way she did things and I already had. Then I read where she was making comments about how annoyed SHE was. Imagine that.

My posts are still on the weightloss buddy site and I mention that only because I was polite when I told her I didn't need her to buddy me up as 2 members had emailed me. Then I got her email telling me to leave. I just don't want people to think I was nasty in any way.

That's awful that that happened to you. I don't want to stir the pot or anything, but some of the members here did start other groups because they couldn't handle hearing the truth...when askin, I mean. I have read many posts in this group that have been not so nice asking for folks to stop cramming weight loss down their throats. I think that's what "communities" are all about. Diversity. Not having posts full of "i'm so sick of being this way or that" and "help me" but don't really want advice, then bash people for responding.

I'm not ususally too shy about voicing my OPINION, which, I am entitled to. I firmly believe that if someone doesn't like what I have to say...ignore me. But, no one wants to hear the truth if they aren't really ready for it. I've been nasty messaged, ignored...the gammit. I don't get too worked up about it. You are who you are and you need what you need. I don't think anyone should belong to a group where the leader kicks people out for having an opinion. But, good luck to her...maybe she's still searching for her own answers, you know?

maybelle, the same thing happened to me. then on ds i posted a dissuion about the message and i guess ds took it down. but, if you read support group dissuscion post i said nothing wrong. i wanted a weight loss buddy, and well i guess the leader was on a power trip. cuz i didnt get one either. first it was i am stepping down, and then it was oh no, you get the freak out. whatever

Sorry to hear that this particular group rather then try to discuss and work things out with you decided to be nasty. I guess to me if someone is not willing to try and solve problems then to me personally it isn't a group worth a pot to piss in lol. Sorry for blunt use of my statement.

I just never have cared for anyone in groups who develop clicks and like to gossip. As for DS deleting your post I guess I would question why and ask them to validate what rule they feel you have broken remember this site is ran by a group of people who also like you and me can be reported and questioned as well. For all we know some of the community leaders could have issues as we never really know what is on the other side of the computer do we?

In all aspects at least you found out early that this group perhaps is not such a good group and there are plenty of other great groups out there that offer support. Anyway try not to let it get to you and keep smiling:)

bump Why don't all of us just move on and get to other things? It doesn't do anyone any good to keep rehashing the same thing. Lets support each other and not worry about someone you might not agree with.

kathy, that is easy for you to say, no one censored you. i am done and over it, but i was angry and i felt the need to vent. as do alot of people on this site. i will find a better group that is well, better than weight loss buddies.

Jaxswife, I do agree all of us need to vent sometimes. I just meant it seems like it has become a venting site instead of one to encourage and help each other. I do know a person has to vent before they can move on. I didn't mean to offend anyone. I am sorry if it sounded that way. Hope all concerned heals and continues with your lives in helping each other.

no kathy, you didnt offend me. i relize that maybe this particular person has issues, and well, i am here to loose weight. i want to support people and be supported.
