Obesity Support Group
This community is dedicated to those of us struggling with obesity. Obesity is thought to be a significant risk factor in certain health conditions, leading to increased mortality. Find the support you need by sharing your story, asking questions, and learning from others on how they have coped.
What might motivate you? Araggs' idea of the pants is good. Or maybe a small reward like expensive pampering bath products or a magazine. Or save the money you would have spent on junk. Either note it down or physically add the cash to a bank account or jar.
There are other small practical things you can do - try to keep junk out of the house. This may be hard unless you live alone. But even with others you can take control of shopping and cooking in the house or suggest healthy alternatives. Don't carry money or cards to work/college, pack a lunch and bring that instead. If you are tempted by going past a shop after work, change your route. When food shopping, write a list and stick to it rigidly.
If your issue is more complex and deep rooted however you may need some kind of counselling to resolve it. Cognitive Behaviour therapy is designed to change your habits for example, it is more practical as a therapy.
