In January, I suffered a miscarriage and my OB/GYN tested my thyroid. I've had my thyroid tested before because I too would go to my doctor complaining of symptoms but was always told I was "on the low end of the normal range." Luckily for me my OB/GYN didn't accept that and I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and am also now on Synthroid. I haven't lost much weight yet (but then again, I haven't been trying very hard) but I feel so much better. I don't feel fatigued, I have a little more energy (more will come when I start losing weight), my hair isn't falling out, my nails are cracking and brittle. I really wish the medical community would start looking at this whole thyroid thing differently. Luckily my Dr. caught it when I was 29. My poor mother suffered needlessly into her 50's.
