I know for me it takes a push. I have to just do it, whatever it is. And I have a hard time motivating myself to do anything. I know it's hard to do this when you have a lot to lose. I try not to think of anything but today. If I can eat a little better today I have done well. You can't exercise right now, so, maybe just try to put down something your going to eat when you're not hungry. I know how hard this is but we both know we don't want to give up and we do care.
I am glad you are seeking med treatment and hopefully they will help you after your MRI.
We are here for you and just take one day at a time.....
Hope you get some relief soon. xoxo
Have you talked to your psychiatrist about your meds for your bipolar disorder, whether you need an increase (are you on lithium? you might need to check your levels) or change in meds, and how they might interact with pain meds? You might also want to ask him/her to increase the dosage on, or change, your pain meds.
Like others, I agree that your act of writing in about your pain and the problems it causes indicates that you haven't given up, but you are VERY frustrated. Writing in was very commendable. Your frustration is perfectly understandable.
Some pain meds interfere with some psychiatric meds, and vice versa. I've spent most of the week in bed, too, due to pain. I'm an amputee (right leg, below the knee) and also have arthritis in both of my knees. Lately my "good" leg and my stump have hurt a lot, especially my thighs.
I'm in a wheelchair so I think that I've been doing too much sitting. Nothing to do about that other than go to bed with a good book and keep my legs extended and elevated. I can't take arthritis meds or anti-inflammatories because I'm allergic to them. I also have a history of depression, so will have to talk about that with him. Might need to think about going back on meds.
I see a psychiatrist monthly for prescription refills and pain management. I'll be talking to him again in a couple weeks. Last month I attributed the increased pain to all the standing and sitting, up and down repeatedly (kind of exercise, right?), and bending I was doing with holiday cooking and baking. I guess I was wrong because I'm still in pain, and not doing all that Holiday stuff anymore.
Good luck with the MRI! I hope it discovers whatever it is that is causing you so much pain!
Aloha,
HH
You could try chair exercises (search google/youtube) so you move your upper body and avoid strain on your legs.
Best of luck with the scan.
