My daughter's birthday was the 22!

I still have size issues. I'm always paranoid I won't fit in airplane seats or that I'll have to ask for a seat belt extender. I'm a sz 12/14 now but was a sz 24 at my highest weight. I still see myself as a sz 24. I haven't been to an amusement park for years because I'm afraid I won't fit on any rides :(

Oh yes, I know exactly how u feel. I have Social Anxiety Disorder & Avoidant Personality Disorder & I'm constantly worried about people looking at me & thinking I'm fat. I'm afraid to even take my garbage can to the curb becuz I don't want people to see me. My parents don't really get it but they understand that I feel like that. Being bigger than ur parents sux. Like ur supposed to be able to borrow ur mom's clothes & wear ur dad's big shirts but MY clothes would be big on them. With my parents, I send them articles or videos or other things that talk about Social Anxiety so they can see it's not just me (not sure if you have it but you could even show them some things people here have said).

justkate I don't normally go out of my house also not just due to my weight as well. I wish I could send my parents material that would explain what I go through but they just don't understand anything of what I am going through and so I don't even try. I try to talk with people who will understand so I can get the best support possible.

Oh Oh. being at KFC w bucket chicken on table to go while eatting lunch meal. Look up from eatting. B U R Ppp, look around, smile n say, Oh my I needed the extry room. I have n also farted from laughting when I've said that.
LOL, I forgot to put on undies w certain thread bear pants, aw like you don't have pr of special pr of pants :) I have a couple of pairs. 1 of 2 being my oh so comfy pj pants.
Oh oh. jumping r leaning over too far, n having our tits slap us in face.
I have 2 fold up beach chairs in trunk of my red car. darn right, if needed, I take my chair in rest, r wherever.
Embarrassment, no such thing, just a lot of gas ridden people, who blame thier farts on others.lol
I've seem 1.000's of skinny n modle type people at red traffic lights trying to dig thier brains out through thier noses.They just had to have appitizer for/as lunch.
Lizze. I know if my butt may not fit into rest/Dr offc... chair, then I pre make arrangements w owner so that I can bring in my own chair.
I keep my life simple n easily flowing, n as less stressful as possible on n for me.
What pisses me off is rug rats on planes, that always seem to be hyp up on sugar. They make children benidral to benifit adults who could actually afford to have a child n to known to only have a child w nannie. Haveing put that out there, I must say that I adoptted 2 brothers. It cost me over $40. to do so, I had to prove that I had finances in advance to raise 1. I also went through same process w the other.
Anyone can have baby but it should be against the law to do so if person doesn't have funds to meet child finacial requirements.

This is my first group I have ever joined discussing weight. I don't know anyone that understands or thinks like that about restaurants besides me. My friends are all very thin & I hate going out to eat with them. I know they are prob not judging me but I'm thinking where I am going to sit? I dont order too much. I also have a very small petite thin family & a husband that can lose 5-10lbs in a blink. Hope you had a nice birthday.

Oh yeah. I totally get this. Sometimes I feel like my body just always gets in the way. Like I'm wearing an awkward Halloween costume that keeps catching on things like chairs and booths. It's awful. But I think that people like us think people stare more than they actually do. Of course there will always be those assholes who are actually staring but chances are the other people in the room think they are assholes for staring. LOL

Oh hun, I feel for ya..but you need to do something to lose some weight, something that is healthy and works for you. Avoiding enjoyment is avoiding Life itself. We dont truly live when isolating. I did it and missed out on SO much. some things that dont come around twice. You are a beautiful, and young lady with so many opportunities, adventures etc.. in your future....you're right, others not in your situation may not understand..or they do but don't want to hurt your feelings or who knows..but we..here.. do..or are trying to.Try not to think or overthink these things and 'Just do it' like the Nike slogan. I won't lie to you, there may be embarassing times, about your wieght ..or not..but one thing I've learned is there is no humor or fun without spontaneity and surprises...just like 'Dance like no ones watching' phrase..jog like no one is watching . It's normal to care some what others think but it's JUST their opinion from their own perspective, it doesnt make it Fact. Does this help any?

Innerhappy, yes it does help. I actually am doing something about my weight and have been for the last year and a half. I've lost about 125 lbs total in that time. I have about another 110 to go. You are right that it does not matter what people think that we should live like we don't care. Me I'm working on it because up until about 12 years ago I was always skinny. Life, illness and a bad marriage caused a lot of my weight gain and a family that always prided themselves on outer beauty more than inner beauty. Basically if you're not skinny, you're not pretty. And that fat people are gross. I have since learned different but that still sticks with me what my family says and that's probably mostly why I feel the way I do.

I use to call ahead of time, n drop off a chair for myself, at rest.
I dougth that anyone would have through much of any body sitting at end of table for a party. For those who mental a gave a slight moment of throught, who r they to me/you! listen to my friends ect. I take what I think that I can use, n I discard the rest of their good intentions/input...
Their not my Dr so what people say r how they look at me means nothing to me.
Thisis has been liken going back in time to re doing a cross word that already ben done.

I have SO been in that same mindfulness. I am working really hard to lose weight and yet, i am still very large and the judgement of strangers is horendous. My family has finally realized this losing weight is a slow process and I guess I am still working through my demons. I hope you had a happy birthday and I am sorry your family didn't respect your choices.

Actually you are "lucky" that your parents even wanted to take you out to a restaurant. When I was super heavy, my father took my mother out to eat and refused to take me. He yelled "it's not for PEOPLE WHO DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR WEIGHT!" But he was a nasty S.O.B. about a lot of things. Hope you can find some happiness celebrating your birthday. Don't feel guilty and ashamed.
