Just wondering if anyone has tried Phentamine for weight loss and how it worked for them.

I've not tried Phentamine, but I would say just in general that weight loss pills can be and frequently have been very dangerous for the people who take them. My mother took phen/fen. The pharmacy companies just don't test them as much as they should, I think. I'd rather be fat than have a heart that won't beat. Well I'm not here to tell you what to do. I just want to tell you that I'm here for you and I want you to be happy, most of all. Let me know how it goes! *HUGS*

Pills are definitely not a cure all and there are definite risks. I already exercise daily and have begun to monitor my diet. He did mention to that in conjunction to medication he recommened the South Beach diet and said if you don't watch your diet and exercise the weight I would lose with help of the medication wouldn't last after I was off of it. The internist who suggested it to me gave me an ekg and is also giving me an echocardiogram to make sure that there are no heart problems as well as doing bloodwork to check for any other conditions that need to be treated. If I am having any serious negative symptoms I would of course stop.

I went to a weight specialist for several months. I was prescribed phentermine alone, not phen-fen. It worked great. I had lots of energy and was motivated to exercise and I felt no cravings. I lost over 30 pounds. That's the good part. Phentermine addresses the craving center in the brain. However, after three months, the drug became ineffective for me. I stopped taking it and gained the weight back and more. My GP agreed that it works on a temporary basis. If you can alter your eating and exercise habits during this time, you can continue to lose weight, just not at the rate as when the phentermine was effective.

Thanks for the info. If it helps give me a little jump start in addition to exercise I would be content with that.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
