Obesity Support Group
This community is dedicated to those of us struggling with obesity. Obesity is thought to be a significant risk factor in certain health conditions, leading to increased mortality. Find the support you need by sharing your story, asking questions, and learning from others on how they have coped.

Do you know what plan you will be going with? Seems like each of us here is doing it our own way... low carb, low fat, low cal and etc... just remember that fad diets like the grapefruit diet don't work for the long haul! You need to find something you can stick with for a very long time.
Good luck in your efforts.
We're all here for you!
Here's my suggestion for a plan: think about 8 or so years into the future. You need to grocery shop and fix meals for your sweet daughter. What are you going to feed that sweet little girl to keep her healthy and strong and energetic?
Whatever you'd feed her then will be the best building blocks for what you want to be eating now IMO.
Most of us here try to stay the course with a solid eating plan of low carb, high protein, with plenty of water and activity in moderation. I don't believe in quick fixes either, they never work and people always end up gaining again and sometime more than they started out losing in the first place. Be patient and practical. Pick a plan you can live with for the long run. You can do it!
@needtoreboot That is great thinking. At the end of the day it's all for her just as much as it is for me.
I did the 21 Day Fix too. It helped me start on my way to eating using portion control. I have lost 35 pounds since September. Are you using the Shakology shakes? I did at first. They are great but for some reason, I got tired of them. Still have one once in a while but for the most part, I like to eat regular food!
Let us know how you are doing!
