So sorry you were treated this way. I hate to go to E R. When an obese person needs medical treatment their is always one person that treats you like you like a freek. I wonder what makes that person think. they are so superior and so much better then you are. Hugs, hope your feeling better.

Man don't even let other peoples ignorance get you down. You know who you are and you are worth everything in this world, even if there are times you don't think so. It may be hard, but you just have to brush that kind of negativity off and know that his meanness will come back to him. Keep your head up friend.

If you feel strongly, the best thing is to look into their complaints procedure. Doctors/nurses should not treat anyone like this, regardless of weight, everyone deserves basic respect. And what does your hair and skin have to do with your veins? Not sure why he would mention that. TBH it sounds like their IV technique was at fault and they were blaming you for their lack of skill.

PS. this morning in prayer I though pleasant throught of you. I recalled an incident where I smake the out of a teck who insisted on twiling a needle around in my arm. I told her to stop. I requested that someone else draw my blood. I even told her that if she didn't stop n withdraw the needle I would slap her. will I not only slap her once the 2nd slap I made her head move.
I filed a complaint to hospital that she actually works for. she works in a lab thta''s a part of my prim Dr offc. but she works ffor hospital.
I provided the hospital w mmy Atty business card. I never did hear from the hospital nor did she take any legal action.
I through if I were to get pulled over the officer might have throught that I was a druggy because of what she did to my arm.
To me I give respect only when it is earned over time. I'm socially polite but I too have my moments.
My prim is not P-Dr so I don't need her to hold my hand. I want the bare facts. when needed I pick her brain.

What he saod was very insensitive and for that I am sorry. I do know it os harder to fond veins though when over weight. But your right he knows nothing about you and is suppose to be there to help those sick!

I know it is a fact that a fat person's veins are trickier, but i have been to the ER MANY times and NEVER had that much trouble. It prob didn't help that i had a high fever and was dehydrated. Even if the guy WAS stating the obvious,he could've kept his trap shut.
