Obesity Support Group
This community is dedicated to those of us struggling with obesity. Obesity is thought to be a significant risk factor in certain health conditions, leading to increased mortality. Find the support you need by sharing your story, asking questions, and learning from others on how they have coped.
I have discovered that in order to "know" that your food is real one has to remove boxed, packaged or premade foods. Stick to foods that look the same as they did when they were picked and grown. Meats, eggs and dairy should be free range, free of antibiotics, hormones and free of additives like the salt solutions the companies add to plump your chicken and turkey breasts. I even found out they color the salmon we get. I only get wild salmon. Add your own herbs, limit your sodium and all sweetners. Stevia and honey are my main staples as sweeteners. I don't have to sweeten much. Fruits are pretty good and sweet. We all have to retrain our tongues.
When your foods are oversalted or over or artificially sweetened your tongue misses the good flavors of the foods themselves. I love limes and lemons because they give zing without adding calories. Good healthy homecooking without the frills! Just wholesome foods
that provide us with nutrients.
