I've been seeing your posts on this forum for several month, hon; what I'm most struck by is that you seem to be making a lot of effort, but, you're not getting anywhere in the area of actually losing weight, so something is off-kilter somewhere. Especially at your weight, if you're making good food choices and exercising, there is no reason in the world why the pounds shouldn't be coming off.
I believe one very important key to weight loss (and keeping it off) is that we really examine what we are doing on a day to day basis in our weight loss efforts. Sometimes it takes measuring our food portions (I read somewhere that a lot of people underestimate their portion sizes by as much as 30% when they don't measure them), keeping a journal of our meals, etc.
I believe in not giving up on anything, particually when it has to do with our health. But, obviously, what you've been doing in the last several months has not worked, so you need to try something else. What that is, I can't tell you...it's part of your journey to make that discovery for yourself.
I think a very important question you need to ask yourself is - do I really want to lose weight and be healthy? And, am I really willing to put in the difficult work to make that happen?
Wishing you the best, LiliannB. I think you need to stop focusing on the scale and how much (or how little) you should stand on it and focus in on why you're continuing to hold on to weight you say you want to lose.
Hugs,
Janice
Good luck to you!
My best friend is a daily weigher and I am more like every other day...if I can get on the thing...My husband is a "I just went to the bathroom so I'm gonna see how much that weighed" weigher...sorry TMI, but he lost 9lbs just by going to the bathroom! YUCK!!!
Just stick to whatever you're comfortable with and what you think will be best for you :)
Personally, it would drive me crazy to only weigh myself once or twice a week. But, that works great for some people though. I guess the bottom line is, we need to do whatever keeps us on our weight loss journey.
Janice : )
It's too nerve-wracking & can make/break my day. I don't need that. Nor do I need to see small ups/downs each day. Let me see one number at the same time each week or every few weeks.
Just my opinion for me. Others like the daily look. It's whatever works for you. :)
