Not sure I asked my question quite right. The original question was a few days ago and you can see it here: http://www.dailystrength.org/c/Obesity/advice/13448728-help-obese-spouse. I'm not trying to push him to lose weight. I am supportive of him at his current size and I will be supportive of him if/when he tries to lose weight.
My question is about how to have family togetherness if my kids and I are active and my husband isn't. How do you spend weekends together if (with the winter upon us) 3 of us ski and go ice skating and playing in the snow and he can't? How do you plan a vacation that involves hiking or biking or even walking around an amusement park or touring a new city if he can't do those things?
I certainly don't want to exclude him and I don't want to feel bad about leaving him behind. But I also don't want to miss out because he's not able to do stuff. It's important to me that my kids learn that an active lifestyle is a good thing and that taking care of your body is important.
So how do you do that? How can you maintain family togetherness with an obese spouse who isn't physically capable of doing the things that you and your kids enjoy doing, whether on a daily basis (like walking or biking to and from school) or on a day off (backpacking or camping) or on vacation (biking, exploring, etc.) How do you do that?
Thank you.

mabey if you encourage him to walk with you a couple minutes a day, or mabey the family could go swimming, when your overweight being in water is the easiest thing to do. you dont feel as heavy in water. My doctor told me swimming is one of the best excercise to lose weight when your feeling so much pain. I bring my son swimming. and we have a great time as a family.

Maybe you should try making your activites into easier functions. Take a walk together, ride bikes on the sidwalk, and country in line dancing is real easy. There are many other ideas if you think about it. Once he can do those then work on the big stuff.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
