You will need to learn how to read food labels, count and track your calories to figure out how many you are putting in your body each day.
Google a calorie needs calculator and put in your info to see where you should be at for your intake each day.
I'm on myfitnesspal and totally love it. It tells you how many cals you need for your weight and activity level and you can count your calories on there each day. Its a free site.
Some ppl count carbs instead of cals. Either way is good and you will lose weight!!
Good luck and keep us posted!!
I weigh over 400 Lbs and day and night I walk.climb stairs..it helps.I use a cane each morning to wake up ,which pain is worst.
You can do it...commit and listen to your body, walk,'rest and repeat.
I do love excercise and I like a variety. For those in pain, maybe chair excercises or move within your limits. Movement should not be painful.
We all have a fresh start in 2016.
For calorie needs calculators, my favorite is calculator.net I looked at a LOT of them when I first started and that one seeems to be the easiest to use. It also gave me about the same recommended calories as the sites that were a lot more complicated.
I've read in a few places that healthy weight is 80% diet and 20% exercise. Eating less is a good start IMO - but you also need to eat a healthy diet. Remember too to count the little things like coffee creamer. There's a lot of things that really add up in calories but don't give you much (or any!) nutritional value at all.
Be prepared though - they've changed the plan again just recently. In fact, it seems they change the plan almost every year. The WW you may have been familiar with may be entirely different. That isn't to say it won't work...just that it might be different.
Wishing you great success with whatever plan you find that works with your lifestyle.
