Non-hodgkin's Lymphoma Support Group
Non-Hodgkin lymphoma is a type of cancer arising from lymphocytes, a type of white blood cells. It is so called because of its distinction from Hodgkin's disease, a particular subtype of lymphoma. It is in fact an overarching term of many different forms of lymphoma, each with individual characteristics. Most cases start with infiltration of lymph nodes, but specific...
I have been reading a lot. Thanks Dave for telling me about that one site I did get the free article and it was very interesting. Thinking about joining the site.
Thanks Coetie for all your encouraging words...It sure is nice to hear from people who have had NHL.... It helping me be more prepared for my appointment on Thursday.
Have a Great Sunday everyone and I am praying for everyone in this group. I know God has a plan for all us...we just have to trust him.
I have been diagnosed with T-cell Lymphoma not so long ago either. I have been feeling very well for the past couple of weeks but have had some temperature from time to time and felt a bit weak. I have 2 lumps on my leg but they did not remove it and say that it will go away with treatment, cortizone and chemotherapy that is. What treatment are you having? I am only 15, is there a strong possibility that the treatment won't work and my condition will get worse?
Best,
Ewa.
As fast as you are able, please go the the site www.LymphomaSurvival.com. This site has probably 1000 pages of very high quality, PubMed, etc., based articles on the subject. There is an introductory 30 page article. In addition, the site has 2500 participants who are very active. Not trying to move you from here to there, but between both sites, my mental state has improved greatly over the 6 months since I was diagnosed. Lots of feedback on all forms of treatment, as well as useful info on how to optimize chemo, and minimize the side effects of it. Please do yourself a favor and check it out. This REALLY helped me. Keep in touch.
Sorry to hear you have t-cell lymphoma, I am still new at all of this and just had my first appointment with the Oncologist yesterday. So don't know a whole lot yet. Except for my oncologist said that people with lymphoma can live a long life with it. Just going to start the staging process, waiting for the hospital to call to find out date and time for the pet/ct scans and then on May 30th go for the bone marrow test. The oncologist did an examine and he couldn't feel any lumps anywhere except in my neck, but will have all the test done to make sure it isn't anywhere else. Just remember everyone is different and they handle things differently and have different symptoms and different reactions to the same treatments. Just trust you oncologist because he will know you better then anyone. Although it is also nice to be able to talk your feelings out here on the support board, because people here understand what you are going through. Keep in touch and let us know how you are doing.
Lots of drive Monday....Ugh!
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. And Happy Mothers day to all the Mothers out there.
Vit D. Dave (on this site) told me a while ago about the need to have sufficient Vit D. He is renowned in the body building a fitness field as well as the nutrition side. My pharmacist gave me Vit D tabs and I take one every second day.
I am sure that everyone has heard about Asparagus for cancer. I know that there are many so called "cures for cancer" out there but eating 4 tbls of blended Asparagus a day won't harm. Apparently it must be cooked and canned is as good as fresh. So I'm going to give it a bash. I believe fresh lemon juice is also good. Lemon tea for a summer drink!
Wishing you lots of energy for Monday Pat.
Happy happy Mother's Day for all you precious moms out there.
