Well, Dezna asked me to let her know how it went, so here goes. They did use needles in my arm, but it was not nearly as painful as last time. not even close. That muscle at the base of the thumb must be extremely sensitive. I felt a little pinch as the needle went in, but that was it. The shocks were uncomfortable, but really, not the horrible experience I had before. It was with the same doctor, so I was quite worried.

Anyway, they found the nerve that is being pinched. When her needle found it, my symptoms went crazy and so did her machine, so I have no doubt that they did find it. Now I have to go for an MRI (I am in Canada, so that appt may take forever) and for therapy. The doctor has asked for traction. Has anyone had that and did you find it helpful? Thanks!

I've had traction. It was helpful while I was on it and for a few hours afterward.

I'm sending you gentle hugs, Cindy. I'm so sorry you are in pain and that the Canadian Health System is so backed up. So what are you supposed to do in the meantime?

Cindy666, Thanks for telling me how it went. I glad to hear that it was not as painful as the last time. I really understand what you mean about the shocks been uncomfortable, but I am glad also to hear that it was not that horrible like you had the last time.

Thanks to both of you for the support! Hopefully the therapy will help as I wait for the MRI. the doctor also prescribed pain meds in case I need them. I will try to avoid taking them unless it gets unbearable.

Hi again. My MRI is scheduled for Nov 26, late at night. In the meantime, my pinched nerve has improved from when it first flared up, but is definitely not healed yet. I haven't had a chance to call the therapist; I hope to do that this week.
