Gastroparesis

Who of you deal with this, do you know why you have it, what do you do for it, etc.....

I have it, Im assuming it is secondary to my Lyme , I am on a mostly liquid diet, I can eat soilds but I get full very fast and I can't absorb my meds if I eat anytime near med time. I have taken bentyl for it and couldnt tolerate it. I drink alot of ensure/boost type drinks otherwise my body thinks its starving and holds on to every calorie and I spend most of my time nauseated, dizzy and my ears ring. does this sound familiar to anyone?

I too have gastroparesis, though mine is not nearly as bad as yours. I take erythromycin with meals, to stimulate my stomach to empty before I vomit. So far so good, though I seem to need to need to take more of it with each passing month. I'll have my annual gastroenterologist appointment in a few days. I want to ask about botox injections into the pyloric sphincter, and a pyloric sphincterotomy as ways to manage gastroparesis. It is really aggravating, for folks who have not experienced it.

oh my gosh... i just read about this and i think it may explain so much of my so called IBS! i have some these symptoms like the early fullness, can't eat red meat that often (get sick for days after), have days where i will only want to eat apple sauce and ensure with ginger ale, most days i don't want heavy meals, just something light and small, easy to digest, etc, grapefruit goes thru me completely undigested, and if i take a narc for my pain my digestive stops completely and i have to take laxatives for the next several days to get it all moving again. now my doc has prescribed to me a prescription miralax to take almost everyday just to keep things moving! i never had discussed gastroparesis with her but after reading about this, i think maybe i should. what do you think?

It wouldn't hurt. Discuss it with your GI specialist and report back.

I have this and I was on Reglan for stomach emptying, but took myself off because of side effects, it was causing me to have awful thoughts. The doctor told me to exercise or walk. I don't throw up, but I do feel sick alot after eating. I am on Nexium for acid reflux, some days food goes right through me, this is horrible

I think it's important to also have the Iga and Igg levels checked too. I have episodes of my stomach not emptying and then my mouth tasts like cacca. I'm serious. At some point I vomit and it smells and tasts like poop.

Then my body has other episodes of emptying so fast I cannot digest my food.

Other times I've had 2 month bouts of diareah.
