I spent almost a full year nearly passing out every time I got up in the middle of the night, thinking it was "normal", that maybe my blood sugar was just a little low or something. I had bruises all over my knees from bumping into furniture at night because I couldn't walk straight, or would try to pass out. I finally had a couple of really bad spells during the daytime that sent me to a doctor. I am not on medication currently (used to be on florinef), but still have 3 or 4 near faints every year -- I am "lucky" that as I pass out and my body starts to roll over (I usually faint with my head rolling over onto the floor), I wake up once my head gets a little horizontal.
