Wish the best for you though!
I've heard its very hit or miss too. Hang in there! I hope it works out for you.
I've had pretty good luck with provigil for years, i might just switch back to that. Sometimes the provigil seems to strong, but nuvigil always seems like it's not doing anything....
As of now, I wake myself up at 4ish am. Take the Nuvigil. Fall back asleep. Then wake up with my alarm at 5:20. Do 30 minutes of Bluelight Therapy (while still in bed), and then finally make it off the bed right before 6, and I feel awake. Getting out and off the bed has recently become a really big problem. I used to be able to roll out of it, half asleep. But recently, I feel like dead weight and can't.
As far as the effects- I do feel awake. My eyes are open and not droopy, there is less yawning involved, and I don't feel like I'm going to just pass out... until mid afternoon. I start crashing really hard at about 2pm. I literally feel hopeless at that time. I feel SO EXHAUSTED. I've never felt exhausted before! Just sleepy. But now, I am so exhausted that even walking is a chore. I had to ask a relative to fill my car with gas because I just couldn't. And it was the sleepiness. It was just the exhaustion.
The way I describe Nuvigil is 'fake awake'. Yes, it keeps my eyes open during work- which I really really really needed, but I still feel tired. I don't feel like I 'have my life back' or anything like that. But I'm sure everyone is happier not hearing me say how sleepy I am...
And, I don't think it works well under pressure. The days that I really need to be awake, it seems to poop out/ not work at all. But it's better than nothing...
I should also point out that I don't have narcolepsy. I'm just extremely sleepy all the time regardless of how many hours I sleep.
Tried Porvogil for a few weeks and found I had an allergice reaction when combined with Metformin. I could take either alone fine... but if I took both in the same day I had a reaction.
Tried Ritilian for under a week and had awful headaches.
I've been taking Adderall since the middle of November and it's been much better. I get alittle sleepy in the early evening which I don't mind as it forces me to go to bed. I'm not up and awake all night either. I try to only take it once a day in the am. If I have a lot to do, I do take it twice a day as prescribed. I'm psyched I can get through a day and still mindful that I have to take it easy and rest.
