does anyone else who gets or has gotten headaches from taking nuvigil ever have them hit in one spot over and over?
For me it's always on the left starts at the back and shoots forward to my eye and if i put my hand against the back of my head where it hurts you can feel the throbbing.
just wondering if anyone else has delt with something similar.

any comments are more than welcome.

Yeah, Nuvigil was the first stimulant I was prescribed. No one knows how or why it works to keep some people awake, yet doctors keep on prescribing it. I had awful headaches from it on the 150mg and the 250mg, I stuck it out for nearly 2 weeks.

Personally, if you have headaches on Nuvigi, you should talk to your doctor, and try something new.

Although my cardiologist insists my heart is no issue for stimulants (it's not an electrical problem, more of a plumbing issue, lol), I of course tried Provigil first (almost exactly the same as Nuvigil, only Nuvigil supposedly is longer acting). I got the most evil headaches you can have this side of a migraine.

After it stopped working altogether, which only took a month, I tried various other stimulants, and they all did the same. Tried Topamax for awhile, which worked to prevent the headaches, but eventually I started having bad side effects with that and stopped both it and the stimulants altogether.

I work at home now, or try to, but I don't know what I'd do if I had to work everyday. Probably try Xyrem!

my doctor perscribed xyrem but even with my insurance it's $330 a month and there's no way i can afford it.

OMG I am so glad I found this. I just started taking Nuvigil for MS related fatigue about 2 weeks ago. I have started having the worst headaches I have ever had in my life. I am not prone to headaches, so it really started to worry me that this was happening. I have found that other people have been experiencing headaches from this medication as well.

It is strange, because I never thought about headaches. I never had them before, now I have them almost daily. I have a high tolerance for pain so I am able to make them go away, but I need to start recording when they occur, what part of my head hurts, and how long they last. Who knew?

Try a magnesium supplement. At my neurologist's suggestion, I take 500mg a day. I have had almost NO headaches since starting, and none at all associated with nuvigil.

I don't know if those of you who take Nuvigil can also vouch for this, but my hubby seems to avoid headaches when he takes his medicine with food.

If he takes it on an empty stomach, he gets a major headache.

I've found increasing my water intake on Nuvigil or Provigil keeps the headaches away.

Both Provigil and Nuvigil gave me HORRIBLE headaches, I stopped both of them because of that.

Hrm.....this is depressing to hear.....
I am due to see my doc in a month and we are going to try to change my meds to nuvigil.......I sometimes get headaches now with the adderall......am I right in assuming that this will get a lot worse with the nuvigil?
