Narcolepsy Support Group
A sleep disorder (somnipathy) is a disorder in the sleep patterns of a person or animal. Some sleep disorders can interfere with mental and emotional function. If you are having trouble falling asleep or having some other kind of sleep disturbance, this group is for you.
I had my most recent visit to Sleep specialist today. The EDS is not getting any better even with 6+ hours sleep w/bipap device & Nuvigil 250mg...after waking up @ around 9 am by Noon I'm starting to get sleepy & by 2 pm I'm falling asleep watching TV for upwards 30 mins, during conversations with family & past instances of nodding off at stoplights even a car wash.
But somehow my daytime sleep test didn't show any unusual REM activity even tho I know in the past I had very vivid dreams during my sleeping episodes.
I do get a time period around 10 pm where all of a sudden I'm alert. It's like a burst of energy for 2 hours. Oddly my appetite is raging. It's so wired.
Doctor now starting to talk about Ritalin.
Anyone help me make sense of my situation? It's affecting my diabetes or other way around even tho diabetes is under control.

I don't really know how to label this but I having a rough week and I can't say it's one thing.... I have a lot on my plate which is nothing new and I try to cope in many positive ways and do but I still have my moments.My kids more so my daughters talk to me about everything which I know it's cause of comfort and we are close.... however I really struggle with the venting about their dad which...

The official narcolepsy dx hit my family tree through my eldest son and I am convinced it runs through my bloodline like a freight, but given the current understandings and lack of coordination in the field, I don't see the point in pursuing it on official lines. Thems is high dollar dates with not much substance to show for the time and money.
Don't know that I can help you make sense of the situation. Still working on my own. Hoping for open dialog to help with the sensifying.
