Narcolepsy Support Group
A sleep disorder (somnipathy) is a disorder in the sleep patterns of a person or animal. Some sleep disorders can interfere with mental and emotional function. If you are having trouble falling asleep or having some other kind of sleep disturbance, this group is for you.
I have had all those symptoms. I had them more when I had small children that would wake up during the night. I would have the hallucinations or sleep paralysis when waking up or going back to sleep. Now that they sleep through the night 95% of the time, I have stopped having them. My main symptoms now are EDS, insomnia sometimes, and Cataplexy.
Oh, I dream all the time. I always have. I used to entertain my mom with my recollection of my dreams long before I knew I had N.
Trouble is, now the dreams sometimes seem as real as daily life. I have recurrent dreams, where the situation is different, but the setting is the same. And I will think, I remember this place. That is scary, because I know my mind just made it up.
I had alot more coffe than normal yesterday too lol. I have two young children and find the sleep paralysis and hallusinations worse when they are haveing a restless night.
Are you under alot of extreme stress lately???? Stress seems to make my narcolepsy put me in a coma for days then for 3days I can't sleep..... Good luck
I wake up 35 times each hour of sleep! I never get into deep sleep. I feel like there are weights on my sholders and i still hav3e to clean my house perfectly. a little cod (OCD TO THE EXTREAME). I am coming top the conclusing that even us narcoleptics suffer in different ways some aspects are more pronounced in some people. I wonder why
They are finally getting big enough now to do their own laundry and that is helping with housework tremendously.
Have you ever been tested to see if you need a C pap machine?
And as far as cleaning for me? hmmmm my house is very last on my list...if I have energy I clean a little bit at a time if not it doesnt get done and I dont worry about it. In the end is a clean house worth getting sick over? I think not.....lol Besides I read an article once that said kids that grow up in a slightly dirty home are actually healthier than kids that grow up in a spotless one. So I feel I am doing my duty as a mother and raising my kids to be healthy! hehe
During the daytime sleep study which was a continuation of the night study, I had to stay up for two hours from morning wake, then take a 20 minute nap. I had a test five times every 1 1/2 hr to see how long it took me to fall asleep. The longest was 8 minutes. I drempt every time, which they could tell and yes, imbarrising to say i spoke to them in my sleep. I laugh because I have NO CLUE i did that.
My life, i never woke up rested. I think i could stay in bed all all all day and at night get up watch a movie or two then go to sleep all all all day again.
Needless to say I am tired!
I dread what my house will look like when the kiddos aren't around to help with the chores.
