Hi Pamela, i agree jobcentre are always useless, they won't advise you, in fact they often stop you claiming what you're entitled to. You may be able to claim DLA, this is not automatic because you have narc, it is based on the difficulties you have and what help you need, every case is assessed individually. Put in a claim asap, even if you have to appeal, and win at appeal, it will then get backdated to your original claim. If you get DLA it will not affect any other benefits you get. Are you in work? If so, you may then be able to get extra tax credits and extra allowances towards Housing and Council Tax Benefit. I get extra TC and low rate DLA, but i don't know if i only get the extra TC because I get DLA, or whether I would have got it just for having disability, even if DLA wasn't allowed, as I didn't find out about TC until after I got DLA.
