I have had that wrapping around chest feeling from time to time. It feels like my chest is in a huge muscle spasm. It just keeps tightening and then lessons a tiny and then does it over and over again. Thank goodness it doesn't last all day, it eventually calms down and goes away.
It sounds like yours is really bad, I don't know if its the roller or not. Is it the only new thing that you have started lately?? I couldn't use mine, but I know lots of folks swear by them.
Maybe like Tink and Katty said its a bruise or a rib out of place.

The pain in my side and under my breast are from a whole bunch of trigger points there. I am going to just massage them by hand for now and leave the roller in the closet.
Geez, if it is not one thing it is another with this condition.
