Weak Bladder

Does anyone suffer from a weak bladder? When I have to pee outta my way. I've tried Kegel exercises, but don't really have the strength. I take Detrol LA, but don't think it is working. I've been told I have a spastic bladder. Do you think it could be the MG or something else? I know this is an embarrassing subject, but I would like your feedback.

I have the same issues... figure'd it was the MG and part kidney problems has I had kidney cancer removed in April... very frustrating.. but really feel it is the MG

When I first started making the neuro rounds I was having issues with recurrent bladder infections. When the first neuro found my muscle weakness she told me the bladder infections could be related. My current neuro confirmed this. Apparently when the bladder, which is voluntary muscle, is weak you tend to not empty it completely which can lead to infection and, I assume, irritation. Irritation could lead to urgency. I try to stay well hydrated and never, ever wait to go. Easier said than done.

O-h-h yes! I definitely think it is MG related as I never had this problem before MG diagnosis. Thanks for bringing up this topic.
I think some symptoms are not put on the "list of symptoms" because we don't always tell the neuro all of our symptoms. (I seem to always touch on the most severe symptoms at the time).

I had always thought it was the mestinon that increased my rate of urination. I don't usually get up in the middle of the night to pee though. I know that the more mestinon I take, the urge to pee seems to increase, which is why I pee quite a bit in the middle of the day, as that is when I am on the most mestinon and most active usually. This is an interesting topic though. It certainly lists it here on this government site.

Wikipedia speaks of it as it being a given it seems? In a roundabout way, as they mention:

"Pyrostigmine bromide is contraindicated in cases of mechanical intestinal or urinary obstruction"

You will need to be able to pee very well? - lol

For sure I think there's a link. If ever I get cited/ticketed for public urination, I am going to pull the MG defense. I'll let everyone here know how that turns out....

I think it has something to do with the muscle strength. I never had this problem before my Dx.

have the same problem, however when i left the hospital, they decided to let me have an ecoli infection in my urinary tract, which i'm still taking antibiotics 3months after the hospital stay, the infection spread into my prostate and my left testi.oh boy(, one more thing to deal with, ) I guess being a male at 59yo, does'nt help either. keep the faith to all, better health to all....
