Thymectomy is generally suggested in younger folks with MG and those who have a thymoma.
Thymectomy has variable results with some folks having remission, many having improvement and some with no change. The results may take a year or more to show up=often very gradual.
The best we can say is that sometimes it works well, and sometimes not. So doctors generally tell us to have the surgery and hope we are one of those who improve.
Sorry the answer is not clear and the timeline for improvement not clear, but what you can hope is that you may continue to improve over the longterm as a result.
